There are an estimated 100 billion stars in the universe, yet our sun is the only one we yet know to support life. For all our scientific and technological advances, the simple miraculous fact of our existence is astounding when you look at the conditions required for the genesis of life.

Whether you believe in a higher power, or simple science as fact, the importance of our relationship to that life giving ball in the sky is inescapable. More and more as my practice focuses on the intersection of nature and light, these mind-altering concepts come into focus.

Here we sit, just that perfect distance away and that perfect make up of gas, water and rock. And then came man, and culture, manufacturing and industry, and we began to shape the world around us in immeasurable ways. It's an unlikely outcome, this life of ours, yet one that should be worshipped with the incredulous bewilderment that it deserves.
