$420.00
Sold

Framed in Tasmanian oak float frame.

Acrylic paint on cradled birchwood panel, ready to hang. Signed on front.

33.5cm x 33.5cm x 5.5cm deep, including frame.

Price includes shipping Australia wide. *Surcharge may apply for remote destinations.

‘Small Things’ is a collection of 12 works completed over the past 6 months. The exhibition title refers to both the small nature of the finished works, all measuring 30 x 30cm, and to the nature of the subjects.

Each painting recreates a small and perhaps unremarkable snippet of nature encountered in my daily routine. I may have come across the scene whilst walking the dog, or collecting the kids from school. Most are from verge side trees and nature strips within the urban Fremantle area.

For most people these scenes are something you might pass daily without much thought or consideration. Since I began painting native flora, my gratitude for these small flourishes of beauty have grown into something of a ritual appreciation.

These paintings are a celebration of the beauty and diversity of our natives, and I hope they will serve as a reminder to seek out the remarkable in the mundane and appreciate the beauty to be found in small things.
