Sun-drenched

$1,800.00
Sold

Framed in Tasmanian oak float frame.

Acrylic paint on cradled birchwood panel, ready to hang. Signed on front.

77.5cm high x 62.5cm wide x 5.5cm deep, including frame.

Price includes shipping Australia wide.

In the theme of the my still life work, ‘Sun-drenched’ once again features some locally foraged spring blooms. These gloriously oversized white flowers always stop me. The beautifully delicate petals with their pale pink flushes are such a contrast against the olive and burgundy buds. The beauty of the flower in combination with the knobbly and knarled bare branches really capture my imagination. I love the sculptural and imperfect form of the branch, as it takes on a life of its own.

The colour of the flower, the beautiful handcrafted vase by Victorian potter Mel Eliades from Clay Beehive, and the copy of Inside Out magazine just sing in combination with the sage green background, and the blue tones of the reflected sky. One of my favourite works from this series, and one that has caught the eye of many.
